About MedPulsar

Transforming diagnostic accuracy through artificial intelligence in medical imaging.

"We believe every patient deserves a diagnosis made with the full power of modern AI. MedPulsar exists to make that a clinical reality."
Our Story

From Research Lab to Clinical Practice

MedPulsar was founded in 2021 by a team of radiologists and AI researchers who had seen firsthand how diagnostic errors could cost lives. Working out of the University of Tokyo's medical informatics program, the founders developed a prototype that caught lesions a senior radiologist had missed on two separate reads.

That single case became the founding principle: AI should not replace the radiologist, but it must never let a finding be missed. Today MedPulsar operates in hospitals across Japan, South Korea, and Southeast Asia, with pilots underway in Europe.

Our platform is built on a simple thesis: combine the pattern recognition capacity of deep learning with the contextual judgment of experienced clinicians, and you get a diagnostic system that is genuinely better than either alone.

Dr. Yuki Tanaka

CEO & Founder

Dr. Tanaka completed her residency in diagnostic radiology at Keio University Hospital before earning a doctorate in machine learning from the University of Tokyo. She led the research group that produced MedPulsar's core detection algorithms and holds seven patents in medical image analysis.

Under her leadership, MedPulsar has grown from a four-person research spin-out to a 90-person company serving over 120 healthcare institutions. Dr. Tanaka serves on the AI advisory board of the Japan Radiological Society and is a frequent speaker at RSNA and ECR.

Our Values

What We Stand For

Precision

Every model we deploy must outperform the clinical baseline in controlled trials before any patient sees its output.

Innovation

We invest 20% of revenue back into research because the problems we are solving demand continuous advancement.

Trust

Patient safety is non-negotiable. Our systems flag uncertainty rather than generating false confidence.
